Habitat Builds with Raised Floor Living

Habitat for Humanity in Mobile County is partnering with Raised Floor Living to sponsor the construction of two homes in East Mobile. These homes are built utilizing two foundation systems – one is a slab-on-grade and the other features a raised wood floor system.

There will be a cost and techniques analysis of the building process to compare the two methods of construction.  Also, utility usage will be reviewed once the houses are completed to see if there are any utility cost savings in one style versus the other. As an international, nonprofit housing organization, Habitat for Humanity uses a variety of construction methods to build sustainable and affordable housing.
